Escape to a surreal desert island! Explore our enchanting islands and enter a dreamlike world of sound, light and some very special surprises!

As participants walk on, roll over or touch this installation, they trigger the sounds of the weather, lights that mimic the movement of the ocean and some truly unique sea creatures, designed by children and animated by the Playable Streets team to swim around the room.

A truly enchanting interactive exhibition, suitable for all ages.

Presentation options

  • The Last Islands is an evolving interactive artwork where families create imaginary deep sea creatures that are transformed into digital characters inhabiting a sound-based island environment. As more drawings are contributed, the world expands and grows over time. The installation can be presented as a short-term pop-up, a medium-term community build, or a long-term evolving exhibition.

  • Talk to us about presenting The Last Islands as an outdoor interactive projection work.

  • In this workshop, participants imagine and draw fantastical deep-sea creatures, then bring them to life as animated digital characters that will inhabit the Islands installation.
